Gareth Williams is In Love with Stadia! I now have 3 stadia Premier Editions. One for my girlfriend, one for my daughter and one for myself. I have set everybody up and done ‘family link’ to share any games I purchase. I have also taken up the Ubisoft subscription. We now have LAN gaming as well as all the benefits of the wider online community with a stack of games for all ages, abilities and tastes. Stadia has been a revelation in our house and has put an end to my Xbox hankerings. It really is (literally) wall to wall gaming here!
Pip Tomlinson on The End of the Sky Dish – Sky are launching “sky glass” a TV set with a sky set top box and soundbar effectively built in. You can choose between 3 sizes and pay extra monthly on top of your subscription for the tv. So basically they don’t need satellite dishes anymore as all the content will come through the internet. I’m not sure I’d be happy with my TV being made by Sky. What happens if you leave the contract? Does the TV become a brick?

Anyone got Windows 11 up and running?
Here’s one about getting your Context Menu back via right-mouse… How to Get Full Context Menus in Windows 11 – Phillip Wray – From what I understand, developers can place things in the context menu but it’s a new api for Windows 11, so in theory, as applications are updated, we should see items move back.
James Raeburn – Just updated my test box (NUC10i5) to it this morning and based on what I’ve seen so far I’m really liking it. Visually it’s a cross between Chrome OS, Windows with a dash of iOS. It’s still Windows at heart which is no bad thing. Things will settle down. Only issue so far is that Logitech K810 Bluetooth keyboard keeps thinking it’s American no matter what I set it to (UK QWERTY) in the regional settings.
Phillip Wray – All seems good here for me. Except I don’t like what they have done with the task bar – no right click for task manager and no expandable icons. First thing I did was to put the windows button back on the left hand side!
James Raeburn – taskbar icons can’t be resized – a tad small for me. Maybe there’s a registry hack for that one. AMD Ryzen owners may want to hold off updating to Win 11, apparently there are performance issues. AMD Ryzen performance issues in Win 11 being worked on – CPU – News – HEXUS.net
Aidan Bell – My PC guru, who built my Ryzen machine, has just messaged me “What I’m hearing is it’s very pretty but not overly practical. I have also read that amd can be reduced to 15%!! I’m in no rush to switch.”
