News Bites! Terrified Tension, Creepy Caves and Bacon Bastards
Noah Hawley, best known for Fargo and the Alien: Earth, is set to direct an English-language remake of the acclaimed Argentine horror film Terrified. The project marks Hawley’s latest move into the horror genre, bringing his distinct psychological tension to a film widely regarded as one of the most unsettling modern entries in international horror.

Originally written and directed by Demián Rugna, Terrified follows a police officer and a group of paranormal investigators as they delve into a string of bizarre supernatural incidents in a quiet Buenos Aires neighbourhood. The film gained a strong cult following for its relentless atmosphere and inventive scares, helping to put Rugna on the horror map. For the remake, Rugna will serve as a producer, ensuring some continuity with the original vision while Hawley pulls director duty.
Emilia Clarke is set to lead the upcoming adaptation of When Darkness Loves Us, the cult-classic horror novella by Elizabeth Engstrom. Directed by James Ashcroft, the film recently wrapped production in New Zealand and has officially been acquired for distribution by Bleecker Street. Clarke stars as a woman who emerges from a grueling fifteen-year ordeal trapped within an underground cave system, only to find that the world she left behind is no longer what she imagined.

The psychological thriller features an impressive supporting cast, including Victoria Pedretti, Marlon Williams, and Natascha McElhone. The narrative centers on the protagonist’s harrowing transition back to the surface as she embarks on a chilling, relentless quest to reclaim her family.
Kevin Bacon is set to lead the upcoming Hulu adaptation of the graphic novel series Southern Bastards, created by Jason Aaron and Jason Latour. The gritty crime drama is being developed for television by Reinaldo Marcus Green, whose previous work includes King Richard and Bob Marley: One Love.

Set in the fictional town of Crow County, Alabama, the series follows a military veteran who returns home in search of her estranged father, only to uncover a deeply entrenched criminal underworld. At the centre of it all is the town’s high school football coach, who controls a network of organised crime. Known for its raw storytelling and unflinching depiction of corruption, Southern Bastards has enough fans getting excited about the adaption, and with Bacon attached alongside Green’s vision, the series is shaping up to be a hard-hitting addition to Hulu’s drama slate.
