South African Air Force on the Skeleton Coast
These are striking images show a low-level beach flypast by a vintage military trainer aircraft, most likely a North American Harvard (known in U.S. service as the T-6 Texan), operated by the South African Air Force. The aircraft is flying just feet above the surf line while troops run along the beach beneath it. The barren coastline, rolling surf, and remote dunes strongly resemble the Atlantic coast of what is now Namibia, a region that later became famous as the Skeleton Coast.
