Sasqu…watch The Yeti trailer

The trailer for The Yeti has officially dropped, and it’s looking like a chilling throwback to classic creature features, but with a gritty, period-piece twist. If you’re a fan of survival horror or cryptid lore, this one should definitely be on your radar.

The Plot: Set in the late 1940s, the story kicks off with a mystery: explorers Merriell Sunday Sr. and Hollis Bannister have vanished into the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness.Today their children, Ellie and Merriell Jr., refuse to let the trail go cold. They assemble a team of rugged trackers to find out what happened to their fathers. However, they quickly realize they aren’t just fighting the elements; they are being hunted by an “ancient threat” that has claimed the mountains for centuries.

One of the most surprising things about The Yeti is the sheer weight of the ensemble cast. For an indie horror flick, directors Gene Gallerano and William Pisciotta have gathered some serious talent. Brittany Allen (What Keeps You Alive), Corbin Bernsen (Major League, The Dentist), William Sadler (The Shawshank Redemption, Die Hard 2), Eric Nelsen (1883) and Jim Cummings (The Wolf of Snow Hollow)

Then there is then most important part, The Monster. The trailer is a masterclass in tension, opting for a “Jaws-style” approach. The footprints, the carnage, and the mounting dread of the expedition team, but we only get a fleeting glimpse or two of the beastie itself.

Here’s the trailer…

By keeping the Yeti in the shadows (and the snow), the film builds a sense of scale and terror that CGI-heavy movies often miss. It’s a “scary new take” on the Abominable Snowman that feels more like a primal force of nature than a guy in a suit.

The 1940s setting gives it a unique atmospheric edge—think The Terror meets Abominable, but much more lethal. Between the high-caliber acting and the isolation of the Alaskan setting, The Yeti looks like it might actually deliver the definitive “Abominable Snowman” movie we’ve been waiting for.
