Dusting Off the Past: The Mummy 4 Revives Its Classic Cast

John Hannah is set to return as Jonathan Carnahan in the as-yet-untitled fourth installment of The Mummy franchise, reuniting with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, who reprise their iconic roles as Rick and Evelyn O’Connell. The action-adventure horror-comedy is scheduled for release on May 19, 2028, with production expected to begin this August across London and Morocco.

Directing duties fall to Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the duo behind Ready or Not and recent Scream entries, working from a script by David Coggeshall. While plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to ignore the events of the third installment, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Producers include Sean Daniel, alongside Project X Entertainment’s William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein.
