Bruce Campbell dealing with death… without a chainsaw!
The chin is back! After nearly two decades away from the director’s chair (his last stint being 2007’s My Name is Bruce), the legendary Bruce Campbell is returning to the big screen with a project that’s a little less “chainsaw” and a lot more “heart.”
The official trailer just dropped for Ernie & Emma, an indie comedy full fun of Campbell’s trademark slapstick humour .
Ernie Tyler (Campbell) is a small-town pear salesman who finds himself at a bit of a loss after the passing of his beloved wife, Emma. But Emma wasn’t the type to leave things to chance. She left behind a “to-do” list for her ashes that sends Ernie on a reflective, hilarious, and slightly eccentric trek across Pear Valley, Oregon.
This isn’t just a story about grief. This is a scenic tour of Oregon, from lush nature trails to golf courses and, it would seem, even a bit of weed. It’s a journey of rediscovery that promises to be as poignant as it is peculiar.
Unlike most indie films, this one skipped the festival circuit and is heading straight to the fans. Ernie & Emma hits select US theaters on February 15th, 2026.
Ernie & Emma is written and directed Campbell. Produced by Ida Gearon and Bruce Campbell and features Bruce Campbell, Cerina Vincent, Robin McAlpine, and Ted Raimi.
