Becky’s Back to do battle with Nazis

The indie action-thriller franchise that put a fierce, underestimated teenager on the map is officially expanding. Lulu Wilson has officially wrapped filming on The Last Temptation of Becky, the third entry in the pulse-pounding Becky series from Quiver Distribution.

If you thought the previous two films were intense, get ready, producer Russ Posternak has already teased that this will be “the biggest, bloodiest and most unhinged installment of the franchise yet.”

Wilson, who has perfectly embodied the titular character since the 2020 original, is returning to the role that defines her as a force of nature. This time, she’s joined by an impressive ensemble cast, including: Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother,) Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why,) James Urbaniak (Oppenheimer,) Allan Gildea (Bloody Sunday) and Kate Siegel (The Fall of the House of Usher), reprising her role as Agent Kate Montana.

The film is directed by Jenn Wexler (The Sacrifice Game), taking the reins for this high-stakes chapter.

For those who need a refresher, the Becky franchise has followed the evolution of Becky Hooper, a girl who always seems to find herself in the path of violent criminals, only to prove that she is the one they should be afraid of.

In The Last Temptation of Becky, we see a more “professional” side to our favourite survivor. Becky is now a field agent for the CIA, sent undercover to Poland to infiltrate a family of innkeepers operating a tourist venture at The Wolf’s Lair, Adolf Hitler’s infamous WWII bunker. When she discovers that the father, Wilhelm Reuss (played by Harris), is orchestrating a mission to ignite the Fourth Reich, Becky reverts to her classic, brutal survival instincts.

Both Becky (2020) and The Wrath of Becky (2023) gained massive cult followings and genre-bending thrills. The original film even managed to top the box office during the height of the 2020 pandemic, a testament to how much audiences love watching Becky dismantle those who underestimate her.

“Having Neil Patrick Harris facing off against Lulu Wilson will take this series to a whole new level,” said Quiver’s Berry Meyerowitz and Jeff Sackman. “We can’t wait for audiences to see what Becky has in store for anyone who dares get in her way.”

Quiver Distribution is slated to bring The Last Temptation of Becky to theaters this summer.
