News Bites! Warships, deadly quiet and flying kicks

Director John Krasinski has confirmed the cast for the highly anticipated A Quiet Place 3, with Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe all set to reprise their roles from the previous films. Their return points to a continuation of the Abbott family’s story as they navigate the terrifying, sound-sensitive creatures that have reshaped their world.

Joining the franchise are newcomers Jack O’Connell, Jason Clarke, and Katy O’Brien. With Krasinski once again directing, the film is slated for release on July 30th 2027 and is already shaping up to be one of the season’s most anticipated releases.

Johnathon Schaech and Eric Lange are the latest additions to the cast of Greyhound 2 at Apple, joining an ensemble led once again by Tom Hanks. The World War II sequel follows Captain Krause and the crew of the Greyhound as their mission expands beyond the Atlantic, taking them from the beaches of Normandy into the Pacific theater in a high-stakes effort to help turn the tide of the war. Building on the tense naval combat of the original, the sequel promises a broader scope while retaining the character-driven focus that anchored the first film.

Returning cast members include Elisabeth Shue, Stephen Graham, and Jack Patten, with Aaron Schneider back in the director’s chair after helming the original. Hanks, who also wrote the screenplay, continues to shape the story, ensuring continuity in tone and perspective while expanding the narrative into new and more ambitious territory.

Bloodsport is officially stepping back into the ring, with A24 tapping Michaela Coel to write and direct a remake of the Jean-Claude Van Damme classic. The project is being described as a “reimagining,” though there are no concrete details yet on how closely it will stick to the original’s Kumite tournament structure or whether it will take a more radical approach.

Coel, best known for creating I May Destroy You and Chewing Gum, will likely reshape the material in unexpected ways. She’s also appeared in Black Mirror and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and will next star alongside Anne Hathaway in Mother Mary.
