In a Violent Nature Gets Limited Edition VHS Release Ahead of Highly Anticipated Sequel
One of the standout modern slashers of recent years is making the leap to one of horror’s most beloved physical media formats. While we continue to wait for news on the upcoming sequel, In a Violent Nature is returning this week with a brand-new, fully functional VHS release courtesy of Broke Horror Fan and Witter Entertainment.
Released in partnership with Shudder, the acclaimed 2024 slasher is receiving a limited edition VHS release in two collectible versions. Fans can choose between a Standard Edition featuring artwork by The Boland Design Company or a deluxe Book Box Edition showcasing artwork by Gary Pullin. The premium release also includes a striking gatefold cover and a translucent green VHS cassette, with only 200 copies being produced.

Each tape features exclusive introductions from writer-director Chris Nash and members of the cast, while a behind-the-scenes featurette has been included after the main feature, giving collectors something extra beyond the film itself.
To recreate the authentic VHS experience, In a Violent Nature has been specially presented in its original 4:3 full-frame aspect ratio, making it feel right at home alongside the cult horror classics that inspired it.
If you haven’t seen the film yet, I highly recommend checking out my review of In a Violent Nature here on the site. It was one of my favourite horror releases of 2024, delivering a refreshingly different take on the slasher formula with unforgettable practical gore effects, stunning woodland cinematography and a slow-burning style that divided audiences but left a lasting impression. It’s exactly the kind of modern horror film that deserves to become a future cult classic, making this VHS release an especially exciting collectible for genre fans.

The official synopsis reads:
When a locket is removed from a collapsed fire tower in the woods that entombs the rotting corpse of Johnny, a vengeful spirit spurred on by a horrific 60-year-old crime, his body is resurrected and becomes hellbent on retrieving it.
Pre-orders are available now through Witter Entertainment, with all orders expected to ship later this year. Given the strict limitation on the Book Box Edition, horror collectors may want to act quickly before it disappears into the woods once again.
