Lionsgate debuted the official trailer this week, teasing a deadly adventure that combines breathtaking locations, terrifying heights, and the kind of survival horror tension that made the original film such a word-of-mouth hit.

What’s new in Fall 2: Deadpoint?

Leading the cast is Harriet Slater (Tarot), who stars as Jax alongside Arsema Thomas (Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story) and Tom Brittney (Greyhound).

The film is directed by filmmaking duo Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig, best known for Predestination and Jigsaw. The screenplay comes from returning Fall writers Scott Mann and Jonathan Frank, with Mann also having directed the original movie.

According to the official synopsis, Jax is still struggling to cope with the death of her sister Hunter. Seeking a way to move forward, she forms a bond with Luce, one of Hunter’s closest friends. Together, they travel to Thailand to take on the infamous plank walk of Mount Kwan.

What begins as a journey of healing quickly turns into a fight for survival when a sudden rockslide leaves the pair stranded on a fragile wooden plank suspended 3,000 feet above the ground. With no easy escape and danger surrounding them from every angle, Jax must face her deepest fears if she hopes to make it home alive.

The setup appears to retain the claustrophobic survival elements that made the original film so effective while expanding the scale with a dramatic mountain setting and even more dangerous obstacles.Fall 2: Deadpoint is scheduled to arrive exclusively in theaters on September 2, 2026.
