Guy Pearce is an odd actor, at one moment he will be the star of a multi-billion dollar studio blockbuster, the next, second fiddle to Nic Cage in a direct-to-video genre fest, then name linked with an oscar for something you have never heard of. However, proving he is one of the most versatile actors out there,
Pearce eases from flick to flick. Now it would appear he is back in horror mode, Ravenous and Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark are noted by most horror fans to be firm favourites, as he will star in the next film for Fangoria.
The Seventh Day, described as Training Day meets The Exorcist, begins production early next year under the direction of scribe Justin P. Lange.
The film sees a renowned exorcist teaming up with a young priest for his first day of training. As they delve deeper into hell on earth, the lines between good and evil blur, and their own demons emerge.
“This is a story about the rising spread of pervasive evil. We live in an increasingly dark world, one where it’s difficult to know who to trust, or what to believe. It’s a scary time, and scary times call for scary movies,” Lange shares.
